The statistics with the baguette 
A day in Nancy you look from Trier to its neighboring German cities, it was recognized quickly: More offside is hardly possible - from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern apart. But it directs its gaze 180 degrees, once you look over to the neighbors to the west, the situation is at once central Trier. (When this attempt also Mecklenburg changes nothing.) Luxembourg, Metz and Nancy offer their services as day trips. The recent visit of my parents gave me the opportunity now to attend one of these cities.
... and the cliche is true but
Nancy, a city with over 100 000 inhabitants in northern France, Lorraine, is the France of my stereotypes. Many cafes along the narrow streets and a central square with palaces à la Versailles. But that's not all! At every street corner he stood: The Ideal French baguette under his arm. ! A relief for my budgetary cliché I had often condemned it; considered a crude prejudice, a relic of the past; alive in the scenes of relevant scenes: The statistics with the baguette, which aims to provide striking "This scene takes place in France!" But stereotypes originate. And this source is waiting in Nancy at every second Intersection and keeps the baguette tucked under one arm casually. I was fascinated and felt put me in that special mood that everyone knows who has ever seen The Amelie . Just one little thing had not bid to become the real setting, unfortunately: Film music by Yann Tiersen.
